نبذة عن الحدث
The forum seeks to brainstorm and develop community-driven strategies to address misinformation and hate speech with an emphasis on collective responsibility and action.
It also seeks to address women's participation from sender/receiver angles since they may become victims of mis/disinformation or participate in widely shared, unconfirmed sentiments. The one-day community forum will bring together community members, mis/disinformation experts, community leaders, human rights organizations, and decision-makers to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and develop strategies to combat misinformation within the community.
The forum will focus on discussing topical and relevant issues that are prone to mis/disinformation such as the role of misinformation and disinformation in deadly cattle raiding and communal conflict incidents and how can such incidents be prevented. It will include sessions and panel discussions by experts and will also prioritize participant-led discussions, questions, and sharing of personal experiences. The forum targets 100 participants from various communities within Juba.
