Background
South Sudan’s youth face unique challenges shaped by conflict, displacement, poverty, and limited access to education and healthcare. These factors contribute to high levels of stress, trauma, and uncertainty about the future. Mental health remains a sensitive and often overlooked issue, with stigma preventing many young people from seeking support. Building capacity in mental health awareness and resilience is essential to empower youth, strengthen communities, and promote long-term peace and development
Purpose of the Session
The purpose of this session is to equip young people in South Sudan with knowledge, skills, and attitudes that promote mental well-being. By fostering awareness, reducing stigma, and teaching practical coping strategies, the session aims to strengthen youth resilience, encourage peer support, and create a foundation for healthier communities
